One thing I remember from 7th Dragon 2020-II was that in that world, the dragons conquered every corner of the globe except for a small section of Japan and the U.S., everyone else collapsed soon after the invasion, and this game's library confirms it, mentioning that the 2020 and 2021 invasions wiped out 85% of the human population. Please start building your anti-dragon bunker in preparation for the year 2020 so that you can be one of the survivors.
The battle difficulty took a sharp nosedive since last update, every fight has been pretty easy since we got the ability to have a 2nd party. The only somewhat difficult fight was against Nyala, that was a bit scary, but I got lucky and beat it first try. One thing that I like about this game (and 2020-II, not sure if it's also true of the other 7th Dragon games since I haven't played them) is how bosses are still susceptible to debuffs, so classes that heavily rely on debuffs like Agent and Fortuner can still be useful against even then strongest bosses. A lot of RPGs have the pitfall of making debuffs basically worthless since small-fry are better off just killed with direct damage and bosses are immune, but 7th Dragon strikes a good balance there.
